The Silos, Houston site specific installation
Curated by Bill Arning, Director of the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston and Jillian Conrad, University of Houston Professor and Installation Artist

The shape of the silo is like a lens and the cone shape that comes down forms an oculus or aperture. The shape of the silo, the oculus, the concave mirror and the film dots are the repetition of a circle.

The film dots flowing down from the silo aperture like a chandelier, create shadows and projections of the 1-inch dots of film on the wall and floor of the silo. Recycling the analog material into the digital language, within this lens each 35mm slide becomes 1 dot per inch.
The slide projector, projects blank, cracked glass slide mounts that click on and off creating another projection looking through the 1 inch dots.
