Lieutenant Storemski, an officer with the University of Houston traded and collected police patches from all over the world for over 30 years.
I was asked by the University to create an art piece from the patches.
To symbolize the police force as a whole, I made a 4 ‘ x 5 ‘ image of the traditional blue police shirt. Another image was made of the newly designed patch created by the then new police chief, every new chief at U of H gets to design the patch that will represent his squad.
The entirety of the boxes are not in public view as the majority of them are hanging in the hallways that only the police officers will see.
